For anybody out there dealing with the choice that they made to take out student loans, you may be looking for opportunities to find a way to get rid of those student loans. I was able to utilize student loan forgiveness and have made it my goal to educate everyone on the loan forgiveness opportunities available to them.
This past November, my wife and I were lucky enough to welcome a little daughter into our family. She is a joy to our family and we have loved getting to watch her grow up, and love getting to see her personality develop every day.
In the weeks leading up to the day that I received student loan forgiveness, I had discovered that anytime there is a loan forgiveness (or cancellation) you may have to pay taxes based on the amount that was forgiven. The amount forgiven would be considered income.
In the middle of June, my wife and I got married on a beautiful and humid Texas day. After our wedding, we went to Jamaica for our honeymoon and celebrated with a week long vacation. A honeymoon is amazing, because it is a new marriage with a trip that let's you forget about everything.
I was listening to a podcast the other day (like most days) and the host was interviewing Aaron Watson. Some of you may not know Aaron Watson, but he is an independent country artist. While being interviewed, he was asked to play a song. He played the song, "Fence Post," which gave me the idea for this article. Some of you may not be country music fans, but the message of overcoming underdog status is very motivating. I have quoted a few of the lyrics from this song below.
